Retired South Florida charter captain Bouncer Smith took more than 15,000 people fishing in his half-century on the water. He forged strong friendships with anglers and captains along the way, one of whom is Tony DiGiulian who worked as a mate on several top offshore fishing boats over the years, ran the IGFA School of Sportfishing and is now Tournament Director and Regional Marketing lead for Pelagic Gear

In this conversation, we learn about Bouncer’s rise in the fishing industry and how he and Tony became great friends. Other topics include conservation, ethics, tournaments and more.

Anthony DiGiulian is a veteran angler, deckhand and tournament director who has fished on some of the best offshore boats.
DiGiulian considers Smith a mentor in many areas of his life.
For decades, Bouncer’s Dusky was a mainstay charter boat at Miami Beach Marina. DiGiulian often filled in as a mate, and fished with Bouncer for swordfish, snappers, tarpon or whatever else was biting.
Capt. Bouncer Smith was featured in a 2019 issue of Anglers Journal.
