To keep up with all of the new fishing tackle out there is no easy task. Rod and reel manufacturers are constantly putting out new product designed for all kinds of fishing styles. The same goes for lures, hooks, line and accessories. To get a better handle on all of the new gear out there, we reached out to Dave Ferrell, co-host of the television show Florida Insider Fishing Report and a longtime fishing writer and editor. 

For more than 25 years, Dave Ferrell has written about fishing tackle; and as an avid angler, he is more than happy to get out and test the latest gear on big fish such as this massive mahi.

Dave fishes for everything from bluegill to blue marlin and he knows what gear you should buy (and what you can avoid). He also has a hilarious sense of humor, and will keep you laughing no matter the subject.
